Frequently asked questions

Property Check is an application that provides data transparency and automates property due diligence, helping DUS Lenders and all risk-sharing partners benefit from smarter, more secure deals.

Property Check delivers accurate, real-time data, providing clear insight into the historical quality of a property and flagging any issues early on to support faster decision-making and overall higher quality deals. Under Fannie Mae's risk-sharing model, we all benefit from better deals.

As part of the Multifamily Guide, Property Check is a required step for all new deals and assumptions/transfers. This requirement is in place to support sound risk management.

Based on the property entered, you will receive one of two results: proceed processing as normal, or do not continue. If you receive a “do not continue” result, please reach out to Fannie Mae to inquire about the specific property and recommended next steps.

The Fannie Mae Technology Manager gives you access to the tool. Once you have access, launch Property Check to unlock better deals through greater transparency and shared insights.
