Nancy Atwell is the Multifamily Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President within Fannie Mae, reporting to the Multifamily Executive Vice President, Michele Evans. As the MF COO, Nancy is responsible for Data and Reporting, MF Front Office, Strategy and Impact, MF Securitization, Mortgage Loan Products, Training, and the Product Management Office. Nancy leads initiatives focused on investment in processes and technology to support transformation across the Multifamily business, from loan origination through loan disposition. She provides strategic direction and programmatic leadership to support objectives that impact sustainable and affordable housing while engaging with customers and business partners to ensure successful outcomes for the entire Multifamily division. She also serves as the MF internal lead for all Diversity and Inclusion work, which includes serving as the executive sponsor for the Our People strategic objective and the D&I Working Group.
Prior to her current position, Nancy served as Vice President – Multifamily Product and Securitization Initiatives. In that role, she led the multifamily business team managing the Mortgage-Backed Securities execution, including the transition of the portfolio to a securitization execution. Before that, she was Director – Multifamily Product Development, where she led the enhancements of multifamily loan products and processes, with an emphasis on eligibility for securitization. Earlier, Nancy was Senior Product Development Manager, Senior Product Manager, and Risk Manager. She joined Fannie Mae in 1999.
Nancy has a B.A. in Economics and Management from Beloit College and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago.
